Park Village Auctions (PVA) invites off ers to purchase an iron and manganese mine in Kathu, the registration division in the Northern Cape.

The mine is currently in business rescue and is to be sold as a going concern. The sale falls under the auspices of PVA’s business rescue division, specialising in selling businesses experiencing difficulties.

Most businesses PVA sells under this banner are in need of a capital injection or restructuring to continue operating.

They represent a great opportunity for investors, says PVA’s Clive Lazarus. The mine occupies a favourable position, approximately 25km south of Kathu, the “iron ore capital of the Northern Cape” and is a two-hour drive from Upington and Vryburg. It also lies within close reach of the N14 Highway.

The sale comprises immoveable property, specifi cally the Farm Helpebietjie at 738 RD in Kuruman, measuring just over 890ha.

Mineral rights relating to the property are subject to approval in accordance with Section 11 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources and Development Act.

The sale’s moveable assets comprise jig plants, a manganese plant, crushing and screening plants and an assortment of workshop and laboratory equipment.

The jig plants consist of a hopper and vibratory feeders, scrubbers, a double-deck de-watering screen and drip trays, belt conveyers and spreader belt conveyers. The manganese plant consists of a pan feeder, a picking station double belt, belt conveyers and a spreader belt conveyer.

Finally, the crushing and screening plants comprise a Terex MJ4 Modular Jaw Crusher and Pilot Modular MC130 Cone Crusher , among others .

It must be noted that the business rescue practitioner reserves the right not to accept the highest or any other offer.
