Van’s Auctioneers would like to remind farmers to pay specific attention to the auction of established and well-known fruit farms between Barrydale and Montagu in the Western Cape next week Thursday at 12pm.
The farms were previously operated as part of the JAB Group. Various farms portions and lots, as well as the movable assets and farm implements, will be available.
Lot one comprises of seven portions, as well as a small undivided share of the farm Zuurplaats that provide natural streams, that make up just below 150 hectares. Water is supplied through perennial streams, a river and six boreholes.
The farms have six holding dams. Water Usage is granted by the Breede-Gouritz Catchment Management Agency, and the Water Use Rights are sold with the farms.
The improvements on Lot one include two manager’s houses, store rooms, garages, six staff houses, three compounds and six pump houses at the holding dams.
Lot two is a further two portions of about 20 hectares in extent. This property is the main production facility, and has about six hectares of orchards (apricots and peaches.)
The improvements (of about 3500m²) include the entire production line factories and the complete facility, cold rooms, dryers and more. It also has the offices as well as two houses.
The main house, approximately 500m² in extent, has four en-suite bedrooms, a kitchen, scullery, lounge and dining room. Lots one and two will also be offered jointly.
Lot four, the farm Weltevreden, is about 146 hectares in extent. It also has Water Use Rights and orchards with irrigation.
The improvements include a house with outbuildings, 14 staff houses, two sheds, store rooms and pump houses. All the above, in other words all the farms and improvements, will be offered together as one lot, Lot 5.
All the movable assets and farm implements will be offered together as one lot, Lot 6. This comprises of conveyors, rollers, cutters, washers, machines, sorting tables, generators, containers, compressors, tippers, bins and much more.
The implements trailers, crate trollies, slashers, tools, office furniture and more.
Lastly all of the farms and movable assets will be offered together as a going concerns as Lot 7.
