Dunnes Africa Auctioneers is holding its antiques and collectables auction on Saturday April 7 at 9.30am with viewing on Thursday from 9am-2pm, Friday from 8.30-3pm and prior to the start of the auction.
The auction will start as usual with jewellery, followed by collectables, paintings and furniture. T
he auction will be held at 76 Maria Street, Fontainebleau, Randburg – and the auction rooms are full of goods.
On the jewellery side there will be a selection of vintage, 9ct- and 18ct-gold and silver rings, bracelets and necklaces, as well as a selection of St John’s Ambulance badges, medals and brooches – and a selection of watches.
Jewellery is followed by the collectables, including a selection of vintage/man cave goods, Coca-Cola memorabilia, and Royal Doulton pieces.
Watch out for figurines, character jugs, vases and teapots, a vintage Imperial typewriter, Linnware, a number of silver pieces, including a set of art deco teaspoons, a Goebel Monk decanter and condiment set, a Royal Albert Tranquility tea set, a Murano glass clown and owl, clocks, and a number of books on art and first editions.
Various works of art by local and international artists will also go under the hammer, including Dirk Meerkotter, Billy Molokeng, JL Faure, Gideon Rousseau, Barbara Ploner, and Ian van Zyl.
There is a large selection of antique, contemporary and retro furniture. These include an oak folding campaign desk with brass candle holders, a Victorian oak extenstion table on castors, a Mahogany table top display cabinet, a 20th century shop display wardrobe, art nouveau satinwood, and a dressing table with a centre cheval mirror.
Also on offer will be a Stinkwood writing bureau with top and side display cabinets, art deco wardrobes, an arts and crafts church cabinet that was converted to a large LCD cabinet, a vintage Fuchsware fridge, various mirrors and a number of kists and trunks.
Various pieces of furniture for restoration as well as a numerous Persian carpets will also be auctioned off. Lots on offer, so don’t miss out!
