Two prime irrigation farms in Zambia, one on the Kafue river and the other on Lake Nampamba, as well as the farm equipment, are offered by Van’s Auctioneers on a public tender.
Lot one is the farm Chankalamo. It is just less than 3 000 hectares in size with water permits for about 1 000 hectares and extraction volume of nearly 41 000m³ from the Kafue river per day.
The farm has about 530 hectares under pivot, with 10 new Agrico pivots. There is also about 270 hectares of rainfed land and the remaining part of about 2 200 hectares is currently used for cattle grazing.
Chankalamo has two 630 KVA generators and also features a main pump house and generator room, a diesel tank stand and a pressure pump station.
Lot two is a portion of the farm Nampamba and is about 258 hectares in size. It has a water permit out of Lake Nampamba, and improvements include a shed, workshop, house and silos. This farm has 3 phase 11 KVA electricity.
All the farm implements are also offered and available for tender as Lot three. This includes quality machinery such as four planters (John Deere, Tye, Staalland and Kongskilde,) five Case tractors, a Henred trailer, and three rippers.
A Case self-propelled sprayer, a 21 ton Terex excavator, 16 ton Manero chaser bin and many more implements are also included.
